What

• Most switches and routers provide some level of QoS support; this page documents *very preliminary* thoughts as to how to expose existing QoS support to OpenFlow

Why

• OpenFlow's initial purpose is to allow innovation on production networks. This is very hard to do safely without some mechanism for controlling bandwidth and delay to ensure that interference with production traffic is minimal, i.e., QoS

How

• Virtual Ports (Rob's Proposal #1)
• DiffServ and ToS/VLAN-PCP (preliminary support towards 1.0?)
• Flow-Service Classification (toward 1.5/2.0?)
