Follow-up on Action Items

See Agenda for updates for this meeting on the main SWAI page.

Slicing Issues

Bob L proposed putting queues in user space in order to test slicing. The idea is to continue to use tc in kernel space to allow configuration of such things as bandwidth limiting, etc.

Need to discuss this with Yiannis as it's a significant amount of work.

Other Items

We had a discussion and meta-discussion about the configuration protocol, whether it should be optional, what it will require, what its future is.

Action Items

  • Review "User Space Queues" for reference implementation of slicing (Dan, Yiannis)
  • (Still) Need updated NOX ETA (Guido from Nicira)
  • Send out email to list indicating decision to decouple kernel space implementation from reference release. (Glen)
  • Attempt implementation of structure/object endian swapper (ntoh/hton) in Python; evaluate in SWIG context. (Guido, Tatsuya)
  • Verify if queue support is on the requirements list for XE NetFPGA product (Dan)
  • Forward pointer to initial test framework checkins (Tatsuya)
  • Check with Brandon for a date for other spec changes that are on the 1.0 "to do" page (Glen)
